qPCR validation data for genes of the monocyte co-transcriptional response. Primers targeting iGBS (A) or monocyte transcripts (B) were used in qRT-PCR assays comparing expression in infected vs control conditions. Ratios in A were calculated as described previously29 using CT values, primer efficiencies and housekeeping dnaN for iGBS and gapdh for human monocytes. Ratios were compared using One sample t-tests vs theoretical mean Ratio of 1 (*P ≤ 0.05; **P ≤ 0.01; ***P ≤ 0.001).
