Relationship between the added molar ratio of NIRB:DOX and the corresponding resulting “encapsulated molar ratio” following active loading with TEA8SOS as a trapping agent. DOX and NIRB concentrations in the resultant liposomes were quantified by mass spectrometry. Increases in relative molar ratios of encapsulated NIRB:DOX can be linearly related to increases in relative molar ratios of added NIRB:DOX. The determination of this relationship allowed for the formulation of a synergistic NIRB:DOX liposome in a predictable and reproducible fashion. Data is presented as mean ± SD with the dotted lines denoting the 95% confidence interval (n = 3).
