Pulse types of the MyoPulser-device. The upper part of this figures displays the four different pulse-types available by the MyoPulser: Monophasic (M), Biphasic (B), Alternating (A) and polyphasic (P). Polarization or its inversion is indicated by vertical arrows. Pulse length (tp) is depicted as color-filled area, gap length (Gap) without electrical stimulation are just white. Polyphasic pulsing is characterized by a rapid change of polarity, adjustable in the range of milliseconds (“x ms”). The part below depicts the according relative direction of the electric current, following the potentials’ direction between the electrodes of the sample chamber as shown above.
