Mutual information, MI, as a function of two parameters while the others are left fixed at the values that maximize MI for the particular input and output types analyzed in each case (a–c,d–f,g–i correspond, respectively, to the \(T_a\), \(T_b\) and \(T_c\) output time cuts; a–d–g,b–e–h,c–f–i correspond, respectively, to duration, amplitude and frequency input modulation type). Common behaviors are observed throughout most modulations and time cuts.
