NanoSIMS secondary ion mappings of nano- to micrometer-scale intra-aggregate components. (a–c) Spatial distribution of 16O−, 12C−, 12C14N−, 28Si−, 32S−, 27Al16O−, and 56Fe16O− secondary ions measured on 30 × 30 μm surfaces within the organic-rich matrix of the soil aggregates.
