PMA promotes the differentiation of human THP-1 monocytes into macrophages. (A) Representative images and flow cytometry analysis of THP-1 Monocytes cells and PMA-treated cells. (B) A significant increase in the number of CD11b + cells was detected in the PMA-treated group compared with the THP-1 monocytes cells (p < 0.0001). An unpaired t-test was used to make comparisons between groups (Triplicate assays). PMA, phorbol myristate acetate.
