Variant types and natural courses of tumor volume. VS volumes of 13 tumors in seven cases were examined in the natural disease courses without any interventions. Tumor volumes increased in most of the affected ears. The tumor growth rates varied among affected ears, and no consistent trend was detected between variant types. The growth rates were asymmetric even within the same case.
