Flow diagram of antidepressant type switches for patients who did not continue their initial prescription for PG (left) and UMCU (right). Note the existence of flows from an antidepressant type to that same type during follow-up: these occur when a patient started with a single type of antidepressant and later switched to a combination of types or switched and thereafter returned to the original type. Pauses in prescriptions of the same antidepressant type were not regarded as switches.
