Difference between a PS and an ISC task. In the former, every pixel of the image is associated to a class and an optional instance. Some classes (“stuff”) always count as a single instance, even if disjointed (Y and G on the left). In an ISC task, however, it is possible for pixels to have neither class nor instance and be part of the “background” (in white).
