Pairwise alpha diversity comparisons of the microbiome of An. sinensis from different types of (A) organ and (B) epidemiology. A comparison of Shannon diversity in hyperendemic and hypoendemic areas revealed significant differences (H = 10.53, p-value = 0.001, q-value = 0.001). Kruskal–Wallis tests with Benjamini–Hochberg FDR correction were used to make these comparisons (q-value). The significance level was set at \(\hbox {q}<0.05\), with n = the number of samples processed and each pool containing 5 individual mosquitoes.
