RT-PCR results demonstrating the suppressive effect of P4 on LPS-induced inflammation. Reverse-transcribed cDNA was obtained from RNA extracted from the control group (n = 3) and the CI group (n = 3), both cultured under their respective conditions. The relative expression level of proinflammatory cytokines was assessed 6 h after pre-administration of P4, followed by LPS treatment 1 h prior (with the mean expression level of the LPS alone treatment set as 1). The graph shows results from triplicate samples for each group. Data are presented as the mean ± SEM and analysed using one-way ANOVA with Tukey’s post-hoc test. *Indicates p < 0.05.
