The cIMT was highest in those with Stage III periodontitis (0.76 ± 0.17 mm), followed by those with Stage II periodontitis (0.74 ± 0.05 mm), then those with Stage I periodontitis (0.72 ± 0.08 mm) and lowest in those with periodontal health (0.65 ± 0.12 mm) which was the reference group with adjustments for potential confounders (all p-values < 0.05).
