  1. An ESL rating of 0 is associated with ‘Scala tympani (ST)’. A rating of 1 means an interaction of the electrode with the basilar membrane (BM) or osseus spiral lamina (OSL) occurred. A rating of 2 is used where a translocation of the electrode array into the scala media/vestibuli (SM/SV) occurred.
