Disposition of the waiting room. The participant sat at the left upper corner of the room. In front of the participant, there was the desk, with a chair, the monitor (approximately 2 m from the participant) and papers in front of it. In the non-social condition, the monitor was turned on, displaying a video of the confederate (upper body and head only). In the social condition, the confederate sat in the right corner, approximately 4 m horizontally and 2 m vertically from the participant. The camera recording the confederate was situated on a shelf, diagonally above the participant (about 40 cm horizontally and 80 cm vertically).
