Study design. Overall research methodology includes four major steps: (1) EHR extraction and CVD cohort building; (2) Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS); (3) WGS data quality check and analysis; and (4) Functional mutation analysis to identify mutation types and their functional impact. A more detailed overview of our methodology is highlighted in the right panel. Different approaches grouped within the same major steps utilize identical colors.
