Regular laboratory testing was associated with decrease in mortality in patients regardless of their age, gender or presence of dialysis vintage. However, regular laboratory testing was associated with decreased mortality in patients without ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure or cerebrovascular disease; with diabetes mellitus; or in patients without anemia or hypoalbuminemia.
