Panel showing the results of the modelled plants and fungi biomasses (transects in space) for the phytotoxicity hypothesis. The parameters related to the sensitivity of the plant to phytotoxicity (\({\mathrm{s}}_{\mathrm{T}}\)) and the growth rate of the fungus (\({\mathrm{g}}_{\mathrm{F}}\)) have been varied. Each one of the five types of FRs are represented with different colours. Intermediate types of FRs are shown with two colours. Other parameter values are reported in Table 1.
