  1. Hazard ratios for diabetes were comparison of incident diabetes per 10 cm difference in height. The models were adjusted for age, weight, smoking, drinking, family history of diabetes, fasting blood glucose, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglyceride, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate transaminase, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure except the corresponding stratification variable.
  2. §The model failed because of the small sample size.
  3. *The results in the subgroup of subjects younger than 30 years may be unstable, with too many confounders adjusted and too few outcome events.
  4. BMI body mass index, FPG fasting plasma glucose, SBP systolic blood pressure, DBP diastolic blood pressure, HR hazard ratio, CI confidence interval.
