A negative difference shown on the x axis indicates that a significant trend in one of the digital traces preceded the observed trends in confirmed cases and hospitalization, respectively. Median time lag of confirmed cases versus Google Trends: 15 days; confirmed cases vs. Combined trace: 15 days; hospitalization versus Google Trends: 1 day; hospitalization versus Combined trace: 6 day. The number of days have been counted from the end of each sliding window.
