  1. Samples were taken from heifers (n = 6) and cows (n = 7) on consecutive days (d) of the oestrous cycle. Cows were sampled at d0 (follicular phase) and d10 (luteal phase). Heifers were additionally sampled at d21 (follicular phase) and d31 (luteal phase). Samples were taken from both oviducts.
