The stimulus is first processed with a nonlinear function and then the processed stimulus is used as the input \(x\) (i.e., regressor). The EEG data is considered as the output \(y\). The ABR or AEP is the impulse response from the linear kernel and can be derived by deconvolving the EEG data and the regressor. (b) Regressor generation process.
