Average stomatal aperture width in lettuce plants with simulated microgravity following root treatment with Bacillus subtilis UD1022. Plants were rotated at 4 RPM ± UD1022 or maintained vertically as a control (0 RPM) ± UD1022. Stomatal apertures were imaged with confocal microscopy and aperture size was measured using ImageJ. Letters indicate statistically significant differences (p < 0.05) between treatments. n = 75 stomates per timepoint.
