(a–j) The Shap dependency graphs are presented as scatterplots, with each participant being represented by a data point. These scatterplots depict the Shap value plotted against the underlying raw value for the variables under consideration. Shap values exceeding the y = 0 line are indicative of a higher risk of developing diabetes, while those falling below the line are associated with a lower risk. Due to interactions with other variables, the same raw variable value can generate different Shap values. As an illustration, the age-graph displays a wide range of Shap values for the same number of years, thus indicating the impact of other variables.
