252,007 private rural properties in the Cerrado biome considered in our study. The georeferenced limits of the properties are from the CAR database. The histogram shows the distribution of the rural properties in the classes based on the size of the property. C1 (1 ≤ 150 ha), C2 (150 ≤ 400 ha), C3 (400 ≤ 1000 ha), C4 (1000 ≤ 2500 ha) and C5 (> 2500 ha).
