Ge3d5/2 and Ge2p3/2 binding energies plotted as a function of oxidation time for (a) Ge(001), (b) Ge(110) and (c) Ge(111). The decrease in the BE values with oxidation time for the three Ge substrates appear to be similar. In (a), Ge3d5/2 and Ge2p3/2 BE (blue and red empty points) are extracted from Ong et al. Appl.
