Microbial supplementation positively affects lifespan. Lifespan of D. melanogaster males is positively affected by supplementation with bacterial suspension from both old and young flies as compared to sucrose control (p = 0.034 and p = 0.0087, log-rank). No difference is observed between the two microbial supplements (p = 0.5, log-rank) (n = 80).
