From: Feeding Drosophila gut microbiomes from young and old flies modifies the microbiome
Negative geotaxis decreases with age regardless of microbial supplementation. Mean of means (± SE) for the length travelled (cm) in each tube as a measure of activity. A significant effect of age was observed (p = 0.036) and except for the Control feed, a decrease in negative geotaxis with increasing age was seen. The three feed types did not differ in negative geotaxis (p = 0.87), and the interaction between age and feed solution was also not significant (p = 0.26) (n = 130).
