Effects of ECR on cell viability and glucose consumption in L6 and 3T3-L1 cells. MTT viability studies of ECR in L6 myotubes (a) and 3T3-L1 adipocytes (c) after 48 h of exposure. L6 myotubes (b) and 3T3-L1 adipocytes (d) were stained with Hoechst33342 and propidium iodide (PI) and photographed using a fluorescence microscope. Glucose consumption in L6 myotubes (e) and 3T3-L1 adipocytes (f) was incubated with non-toxic concentrations of ECR (25–100 μg/mL). Insulin (Ins, 100 nM) and metformin (Met, 1 mM) were used as positive controls.
