Examination of DNA double-strand breaks formation and repair following the treatment. (A) The treatment schema. 22Rv1, DU145 and PC3 cells were treated with the investigated drugs for 24 h followed by drug-free growth and staining 0–48 h. (B, C) Representative pictures (B) and quantification (C) of γH2AX (red) and 53BP1 (green) foci staining. 22Rv1, DU145 and PC3 cells were analyzed 0 h, 24 h, and 48 h following the treatment. For each treatment group a minimum of 100 cells were analyzed. Experiments were performed in duplicates (number of biological replicates n = 2) and at least 20 microscopic fields per replicate were analyzed.
