  1. Growth parameters were recorded at physiological maturity of tomato pot plants under shade net condition. Each value is mean of triplicates and each replicate consisted of 3 plants. Error bars represent mean ± SE (standard error) with the same letter statistically insignificant (p = 0.05) as determined by Tukey–Kramer HSD. Water (control), BCH (bulk chitosan, 0.01% dissolved in 0.1% acetic acid) and histidine (0.01%, w/v).
