Differential expression of CD172a by CD163⁺ and CD163⁻ BAL cells. BAL cells were stained for expression of a range of cell surface molecules and assessed by flow cytometry. Live, single cells were gated as shown in Supplementary Fig. 1 and gates were set as in Supplementary Fig. 2. Cells were further gated based on expression of CD163 as shown in Fig. 2. (a) CD172a fluorescence intensities for the CD163⁻ subset (red) and the CD163⁺ subset (blue). (b) The cells were separated into CD163⁺ and CD163^- subsets before applying the CD172a vs ADGRE1 gate.
