The embryo development stage was defined as blastulation (Bl) (stages 6 and 7) when an eyespot appears, and usually the embryo is placed in the distal position of the gonopore after the first reversion; organogenesis (Org) was characterized by the presence of internal organs in the mantle (stages 8 to 14), and before that, the heart starts its activity; Activation (Ac) was defined when the embryo heart starts its activation (stages 15 to 16); Growth (Gr) (stages 17 to 19) is defined between activation and the end of embryo development after hatch. The dark line shows the mean wet weight (mg) of embryos measured in this study.
