Microbial diversity and composition of dedicated GBS swabs stored at 4 °C. Swabs were sampled on collection (0 days) and stored at 4 °C with additional sampling on day 1, day 5 and day 10. Diversity (a) measured by richness (observed ASVs), Shannon diversity index and Simpson diversity index. Relative abundances (%) are shown for the top 50 most common ASVs to genus level taxonomy (b) for each sample at each time point. In figure (b), individual ASVs belonging to the same genus are grouped together.
