Eosinophil depletion results in increased collagen deposition and expression. Eosinophil depletion in RAG−/− knockout mice resulted in increased collagen deposition revealed via a Martius Scarlet Blue (A) and hydroxyproline assay (B). Likewise, increased collagen expression could be found at mRNA level via RT-qPCR (C). MSB = Martius Scarlet Blue, DSS = dextran sodium sulphate. N = 8 for mice receiving DSS and N = 6 for mice not receiving DSS.
