From: Deep-learning-based extraction of circle of Willis topology with anatomical priors
Method overview. CoW bifurcation points were detected on a TOF-MRA scan. Local artery orientations were estimated and embedded into a cost function \(\mathcal {C}\). For each connection between bifurcation points in a complete CoW, the shortest path was found based on \(\mathcal {C}\). Paths were classified as normal or hypo-/aplastic using intensity profiles and used for a graph representation of the CoW.
