Participants enrollment flowchart. A total of 21 healthy subjects and 60 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) were enrolled. In the DM group, four patients with high myopia, three patients with glaucoma, two patients with uveitis, and one patient with maculopathy were excluded.
