TLR7 promotes virus-specific T cells in the lungs but not the nasal tissue following X31 infection. WT C57Bl/6 or TLR7 KO mice were infected with Hk-X31 (104 PFUs) or PBS (control) and cells isolated from the (A) nasal or (B) lung tissues after 6 days. Virus-specific cytotoxic T cells expressing the epitopes PA224–233 and NP336 − 374 were gated from CD8 + cells. Data is expressed as mean ± SEM, n = 5–7 biological replicates. Statistical analysis was conducted using two-way ANOVA test followed by Tukey’s post hoc test for multiple comparisons (**p < 0.01, ****p < 0.0001).
