Task-related brain activation differences under the action-outcome condition between groups. ANOVA revealed a significant group × condition interaction identified in the left middle temporal gyrus and left superior temporal gyrus. Post-hoc analysis revealed that controls demonstrated hypoactivation in the left middle temporal gyrus and left superior temporal gyrus while comparing active to passive conditions—consistent with intact sensory attenuation mechanisms. However, patients exhibited a dual pathology in these regions: (1) absence of attenuation during active actions, and (2) hypoactivation during passive conditions relative to controls.
