VACV infection maintains basal levels of oxidative damage biomarkers. BSC-40 cells were infected with VACV (MOI 1) and the parameters were evaluated at 3 hpi. Malondialdehyde (MDA) (A) is a byproduct of lipid peroxidation by ROS, while Protein carbonyl (B) is due to protein oxidation by ROS. Results are expressed as mean ± SEM, analyzed using Student’s t-test. In this case, no significant (ns) differences were found between groups.
