Archaeological sites reporting pearl millet remains (fully domesticated or in the process of domestication, sensu Fuller et al.13) with radiocarbon dates earlier than 1500 BCE. The plotted values represent the medians of the modelled dates for the sites included in the Bayesian analysis (see Supplementary 1 Table 2). For the sites MT25, MK36, and Kassala we used the medians of the unmodelled dates, since these determinations were excluded from the modelling (see Methods).
