Overview of the main steps of the experimental approach and analysis: a) Several µm-sized, spherical CMPs with a sponge-like internal structure; b) Size changes of individual CMPs, observed microscopically in the sieve holes of a flow cell, after overflow, e.g. with simulated gastric fluid, SGF; c) Determination of the projection area of the CMPs at discrete time points of the kinetics; d) System-dynamic modelling and simulation of the complex structural changes.
