Correction to: Scientific Reports https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-024-71817-1, published online 05 September 2024

The original version of this Article contained an error, where a botanical classification of Myristica fragrans was incorrect.

As a result, in the Abstract, the sentence:

“Cardamonin, a principal compound derived from Myristica fragrans of the Zingiberaceae family, has garnered attention for its potential to suppress the onset and progression of various malignancies encompassing breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and ovarian cancers.”

now reads:

“Cardamonin, a principal chalcone compound derived from plants of the Zingiberaceae family, has garnered attention for its potential to suppress the onset and progression of various malignancies encompassing breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and ovarian cancers.”

In the Results section, the sentence:

“Cardamonin, a chemical substance extracted from the ginger plant Myristica fragrans, is depicted by its chemical structural formula in Fig. 2a.”

now reads:

“Cardamonin, a chemical substance typically extracted from plants within the Zingiberaceae (ginger) family, is depicted by its chemical structural formula in Fig. 2a.”

The original Article has been corrected.
