The two candidate models are labeled Fit A and Fit B as they represent the global minima of the objective functions \(\chi ^2({\hat{\Sigma }}_\textrm{fit})\) and \(\chi ^2({\hat{\Sigma }}_\textrm{data})\) respectively. The former corresponds to the IRLS estimator and the latter corresponds to standard GLS.
