Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) images of (A) unmodified cordierite (Blank, 124×, 1 000×, 5 000×), (B) CuO-modified cordierite (200×, 250×, 125×), (C) Fe₂O₃-modified cordierite (100×, 20 000×, 350×) and (D) MnO₂-modified cordierite (500×, 125×, 500×). These images show surface morphology changes induced by acid activation, transition-metal loading and calcination.
