Step 1: LBC and plasma samples were collected from women with CIN 2/3 (cases) and women with normal cytology (controls). Step 2: Total RNA was extracted, and miRNA expression was analyzed using the NanoString platform. Step 3: Four differentially expressed miRNAs were identified in LBC, with miR-339-3p being the only one consistently upregulated in both LBC and plasma. Functional analysis suggests that miR-339-3p may modulate the p53 pathway by targeting MCL1 and BBC3, contributing to apoptotic dysregulation in HPV-infected cells.
