The assumed geometry of the pixel-particle system with the incident light pointed in the positive y-direction and a horizontal, rectangular pixel at a height of \(\:{z}_{0}\). For the consideration of polarized light sources, this geometry will need modification as the elastic scattering will also be dependent on the angle between the polarization and the pixel.
