From: A framework for real-time image detection of bioaerosols

Photograph of the prototype sensor used to investigate the image detection method. The lower module is the main detection chamber. This module contains the inlet and outlet ports, a connector for the laser, a laser dump, and a thread for the imaging lens. The surfaces of the detection chamber are matte-black anodized aluminum to reduce background light sources. The rectangular module on the upper portion of the sensor is a custom focusing mechanism that allows for the distance from the lens to the image sensor and the orientation of the image sensor to be adjusted independently.
