Bioactive porewater was filtered to 0.7-µm in the field. “0.2-µm” indicates 0.2-µm filtration in the lab prior to the incubation set up. “10-kDa” signifies porewater filtered to 10 kDa to remove hydrolytic enzymes. “DI” is deionized water; “GIR” is gamma-irradiated.
