  2. Categories of PC-1 pro-inflammatory score are defined by tertiles of score, from least pro-inflammatory (T1) to most pro-inflammatory (T3). Means and percentages are of non-missing values. Missing values: 12.3% for BMI, 0.6% for stroke and vascular comorbidities score, and 0.3% for education level. P-values estimates by chi-square test for categorical variables and ANOVA for continuous variables.
