Criteria for the visual assessment of lip desquamation. Each score indicates the degrees of desquamation in the target lip region, with corresponding descriptions and representative images provided above. The clinical implications of each score, ranging from 0 to 4, are outlined as follows: 0: None (no chapping or desquamated flakes); 1: Normal (very few small flakes); 2: Moderate (a few small flakes); 3: Marked (obvious flakes in various sizes and shapes); 4: Severe (very marked scaling, mainly forming large flakes).
